Connor Hale brings over a decade of specialized experience in fire alarm systems, building inspections, and life safety education to HSMC. His professional journey includes serving as a Fire Prevention Inspector, industry educator, and leader in both public and private sectors. 

As an active Director with the Canadian Fire Alarm Association’s Central Ontario Chapter, Connor is at the forefront of advancing industry standards and best practices. He has developed and delivered training for technicians, building officials, and community members, ensuring that the next generation of fire protection professionals is prepared to meet real-world challenges. 

Connor’s teaching style is grounded in technical accuracy and a passion for making code compliance practical and accessible. Students benefit from scenario-driven lessons, hands-on insights, and a strong focus on public safety. His goal is to equip every learner with the knowledge and confidence needed to excel in the evolving field of fire and life safety.

Iman Yavari is a licensed Professional Engineer (in Canada and the USA) and Principal at AI Integrated, an Authorized NFPA Instructor. With over 20 years of experience in fire protection and life safety systems, he actively contributes to NFPA, UL/ULC technical committees.

A frequent speaker at national safety conferences and a member of multiple NFPA sections, Iman brings both technical expertise and practical insights to his teaching. His instruction is grounded in real-world application, making complex code requirements easy to understand and apply.

With over three decades of experience in teaching and administrative roles, he has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to the training and development of fire and life safety system professionals, building owners, and operators in Alberta and beyond. 

His passion for education extends beyond the classroom, as he actively engages in coaching and mentoring aspiring administrators, assistant principals, and principals.  

Mark’s philosophy centers on building a culture of success, emphasizing the importance of preparation and continuous improvement in educational settings. He believes that effective leadership is pivotal in shaping positive educational outcomes and fostering environments where both educators and students thrive.

Raymond Dulac is the President of the Canadian Fire Alarm Association’s Central Ontario Chapter and a seasoned fire alarm professional with over 20 years of field and leadership experience. He has managed and supervised fire alarm operations for leading companies, specializing in installation, inspection, verification, troubleshooting, and compliance. 

At HSMC, Raymond draws on his industry leadership, CFAA Education Committee work, and published technical expertise to prepare students for real-world success. His teaching emphasizes technical skill, professional ethics, and the confidence to excel as a certified fire alarm technician.

Rick Murray is a recognized fire protection engineer, designer, and educator with extensive experience in fire alarm system design, consulting, and code compliance. His roles have also included volunteer fire fighter, technician, Owner representative, Contractor, Manufacturer’s representative.

He serves as President of the CFAA Southwest Chapter, teaches at HSMC, and has a long-standing roster of industry clients across the public and private sectors. He has been in the fire alarm industry for over 47 years and is an Approved CFAA Instructor, Registered CFAA Fire Alarm Technician, and has served as a CFAA National Board Director for more than 25 years.

At HSMC, Shervin specializes in helping fire alarm technician students strengthen the communication skills essential to the field—clear technical writing, accurate report preparation, confident client interaction, and comprehension of safety documentation. His engaging, practical lessons connect English language skills directly to industry needs, ensuring students can meet both certification and workplace demands.

Thomas Richards brings over two decades of experience in the fire alarm and life safety industry, working across roles in systems design, installation, project management, and technical service. As a certified CFAA Fire Alarm Technician, he has worked with leading companies managing large-scale commercial and institutional projects. 

Thomas is passionate about knowledge-sharing and workforce development, combining field-tested experience with a practical, mentorship-focused teaching style. His goal in the classroom is simple: to help students not only meet industry standards—but exceed them.
